Frequently Asked Questions

My house is flooded! Should I call my insurance company first?

  • The first thing to do in a water emergency is to stop the source and start extracting. Most probably you’ll need to call a plumber to stop the water and a restoration company to start the extracting and drying process.

  • Insurance policies normally require you to do whatever you can to prevent further damage. The faster the drying process starts, the more destruction can be prevented, which decreases restoration costs and protects your home from secondary and further house flood damage. You still want to call your insurance company to make a claim, and we can help through that process.

Will water damage to my property cause a mold outbreak?

  • Not necessarily, if your home’s water damage is taken care of immediately, mold outbreaks can usually be prevented. However, if you let the water and/or humidity stay, it could cause harmful mold growth. If you ignore the moisture, mold can begin to grow within 24-48 hours.

  • Mold isn’t always noticeable to the naked eye, but it can affect your family’s health and safety. Depending on the situation, an expert restoration company may recommend a mold assessment be performed by a third party. If mold is discovered in your home, we can help you remediate it.

How much does a water damage cleanup cost?

  • It depends on the scope of the project. Our technicians will inspect and explain the overall costs and their justifications.

  • If filing a claim, you will be responsible for the deductible only, as most property insurance policies include flood damage.

  • If it’s out of pocket, our professionals will communicate clearly and help you get back on track.

Can water damage be hidden? What are the signs?

  • Some signs of hidden water damage include peeling paint and wallpaper, wet drywall, visible mold, allergy or asthma flare-ups, moisture and condensation, damp musty odors, and moisture or dampness in your carpet or other floorings.

  • If you experience any of the above signs, reach out to us for a free inspection and estimate. We are here to help.
